As a fundraising organization, we inspire communities and people to support BC Children’s Hospital, along with its world-class research institute, mental health facility and rehabilitation center.

Our work makes a profound difference. From helping get the boldest research ideas off the ground to supporting the most advanced equipment, together we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in children’s health care. This is no small task—which is why we’re looking for passionate people to join our team and help propel our work forward to power the possible.

What you’ll do

We are seeking an exceptional Stewardship Writer to join our Strategic Partnerships team. Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategic Partnerships, the Stewardship Writer will be a key contributor, responsible for crafting compelling, customized stewardship reports tailored to the Foundation’s generous donors. In this role, you will be responsible for multiple writing projects while collaborating with a diverse range of internal and external partners, including our Donor Experience, Communications, and Philanthropy teams, as well as Hospital, Medical, and Research staff. Your work will directly contribute to deepening donor relationships and advancing our mission.

As Stewardship Writer, you will blend the art of storytelling with exceptional interviewing skills to craft impactful stewardship communications that illustrate the profound impact of philanthropy. You will use your creativity and keen understanding of how to harness the power of meaningful stories and collaborative relationships with partners to inspire donors and accelerate change in child health through your writing

More specifically you will:

  • Write customized and compelling stewardship reports to inspire donors and help build ongoing relationships through storytelling.
  • Edit and proofread written materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency, maintaining high standards of quality in all content.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with Hospital and Research Institute staff to understand the impact of philanthropy on specific initiatives.
  • Understand complicated medical and technical terminology and have the ability to translate it into compelling and easy to understand language.
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as Donor Experience, Communications, and Philanthropy to ensure the best possible stewardship reports for our donors.
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving and changing environment.
