Job Summary

Salary Range: $74,618-$107,264/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.

Summary:

 

Working under the supervision of the Sequencing Group Leader this position will involve experimental design and execution. This role is focused on validating and implementing laboratory clinical processes and pipelines under CAP and DAP guidelines.
This position is initially funded for two years.

 

Key Accountabilities:


• Develops new laboratory methods for clinical pipelines
• Modifies existing methods for clinical implementation
• Designs clinical validations for new procedures
• Completes and reviews all relevant QA documentation, SOPs, validations, training records etc.
• Records analyses and interprets experimental data and recommends improvements
• Researches and designs new approaches for clinical sequencing including literature reviews and data presentations

 

Qualifications:


• A level of experience, training and education equivalent to a Ph.D. in a related scientific field plus three (3) years of recent relevant post-doctoral research experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrates exceptional organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and focus in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills with a capacity for independent learning.
