What you’ll do

We are hiring for a talented Business Analyst who has experience with digital transformation and IT projects. In this role, you will report to the Director, Information Technology and will be instrumental in advancing the digital transformation program at BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. This role requires expertise in digital transformation concepts, business analysis, process optimization, project management, automation technologies, and change management, along with effective communication and influence skills with all staff levels.

 

More specifically, as the Business Analyst you will:

  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive digital transformation strategy aligned with BCCHF's strategic objectives.
  • Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies with process owners.
  • Reviews, analyzes and define current/future state processes and contributes to the development of requirements and testing for all identified development, system modifications, process improvements and installations.
  • Utilize the ongoing build out of the current data platform to enhance the effectiveness of process optimization work.
  • Assess, select and recommend cutting-edge technology that enhances operational efficiency and personalized donor experiences.
  • Project manage the implementation of technology and process improvements across various teams ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met in accordance with the Project Management Framework.
  • Manage project communications across all levels of the Foundation to drive successful outcomes and deliverables.
  • Act as liaison between BCCHF and third-party vendors for RFPs, development requests and the implementation of solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement to drive the organization's digital maturity.
  • Help foster a culture of adaptability and digital literacy throughout the organization.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive change management framework to facilitate a smooth transition to new digital processes and new technologies.

 

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering digital projects from conception to implementation, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
  • Excellence in Business Analysis methodologies in alignment with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) to introduce and manage change, by maximizing the value delivered to the Foundation and our donors
  • Proficiency in Project Management methodologies to oversee the successful implementation of digital initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey digital strategies, progress, and impacts to various stakeholders.
  • Skill in fostering collaboration and building strong relationships across departments and hierarchical levels.
  • Critical thinking skills to address challenges that may arise during the transformation process.
  • Diplomacy and negotiation skills to navigate resistance to change.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing change management strategies to facilitate seamless organizational transitions.
  • Strong history of effectively communicating with and influencing senior leaders, department heads, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact with a diverse group of employees in a respectful manner, determine problems and apply appropriate solutions.
  • Embody our values – Think Big, Lead with Heart and Step Up
  • Additional education/experience that would be considered assets include:
    • Certificates in Business Analysis, Change Management and Project Management such as CBAP, CCBA, Prosci or PMP
    • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodology
    • Work experience in the nonprofit sector
    • Prior experience working on digital transformation programs

The hiring range for this position is between $80,200 and $100,900. At BCCHF, we are committed to ensuring that compensation is fair and equitable. Your placement in the hiring range will be dependent on factors such as experience, relevant skills and qualifications, and internal equity.
