Job Summary

Note: The 86th Avenue warehouse will be the incumbent’s home work location.

The incumbent may be required to work at other lower mainland warehouse locations, based on operational needs, that include the following worksites. Travel required, as needed.

• Hopcott: 7510 Hopcott, Delta, BC, V4G 1B6

• Agar: 4551 Agar Drive, Richmond, BC, V7B 1A3

 


Job Summary:

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for performing a variety of stores duties related to the operation of the Langley Warehouse including receiving, shipping, storage, distribution, record keeping and related material handling duties following prescribed departmental procedures, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and other related safety guidelines.  Operates the pallet lift, forklift and other material handling equipment.

Duties/Accountabilities:

1.    Receives, unpacks and verifies goods/contents of incoming shipments ensuring that goods are delivered as per specifications and completes related paper work such as signing delivery slips.  Enters goods received into computer system, matching against applicable purchase order.  Advises Buyer of discrepancies with supplier.

2.    Checks invoices against orders and goods received and resolves discrepancies with suppliers and/or departments.

3.    Assembles, issues, delivers and ships goods from requisition requests received and records for charging to appropriate area.

4.    Identifies and returns damaged or spoiled goods.

5.    Handles hazardous goods in accordance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, regulations and other safety guidelines.

6.    Processes user stock requirements into the automated Material Management system.  Assembles and distributes supplies to the storage areas of applicable departments.  Monitors supplies in user areas and maintains required quotas.

7.    Transports stock and materials to all areas of the facility by methods such as operating material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts and pallet jacks.

8.    Carries out accurate counts of stock items during physical counts to meet audit or inventory control requirements.

9.    Maintains warehouse area in a clean and orderly condition according to established warehouse safety standards and CSA guidelines by performing duties such as removing wasted cardboard and shrink wrap from assembly lines.

10.    Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience

Grade 12 plus one (1) year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
