Job Summary

 

Salary Range: $106,026-$152,413/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.


Job Summary:

The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) plans, manages and evaluates selected specialty and province-wide health care services across BC, working with the five geographic health authorities to deliver province-wide solutions that improve the health of people living in BC. Reporting to the Provincial Operations Director, and working in direct collaboration with the Provincial Organ Donation Program and the Provincial Transplant Programs, the Manager, Patient & Family Experience leads the development and execution of activities for the Patient and Family Experience program through coordinated, multi-disciplinary approaches to organizational priority setting, policy and program development, and delivery in accordance with the goals of Provincial Clinical Programs within PHSA. The role provides leadership, clinical expertise and engages with internal and external partners in disseminating psychosocial policy & practice standards and guidelines that ensure equitable access to organ donation and transplant services and improve the allocation of psychosocial support resources across the province. The Manager, Patient & Family Experience engages physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, patients, families, and other partners to identify and develop culturally safe and evidence-based strategies to support the psychosocial needs of patients and families and improve health outcomes and experience across the continuum of care of organ donation and transplantation.

The Manager, Patient & Family Experience reviews and evaluates national and international psychosocial programs within organ donation and transplant care for best practices and research; develops surveys; conducts research; organizes and facilitates focus groups, collecting input from transplant recipients, donor families, and healthcare professionals to inform program development.

Qualifications:

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in Social Work or Health Sciences and seven (7) years of related experience. Experience in an intensive care and/or emergency department setting is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills. Project management and strong problem-solving skills. Proven critical thinking, organizational and communications skills, including writing and editing. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with multiple partners. Demonstrated experience in developing operational policies and processes. Awareness of appropriate cultural sensitivities, protocol, and diplomacy.  A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
