Job Summary

 

Salary Range: $106,026-$152,413/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.


Job Summary:

As such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

The Manager, Capital Equipment provides leadership and direction in the planning, procurement, and asset management of capital equipment for BC Cancer. The Manager liaises and facilitates discussions with Operations Leadership, and other internal partners and interested parties on capital equipment requirements to align strategy and manage and assess inventory. Leads the development of major capital equipment plans and projects, and coordinates capital equipment budgeting process for the organization. Liaises with internal partners to support vendor negotiations and develops tools to manage and monitor inventory. Develops and evaluates equipment budgets to support funding commitments from MoH, Corporate PHSA, and the foundations, and oversees the supervision, performance management and development of assigned staff.

Qualifications:

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in technical a health-related field, or a related discipline and seven (7) to 10 years recent relevant experience working on major capital projects and complex medical equipment.  

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of procurement processes and project management. Superior analytical, people, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong written and oral communication skills; proven ability to negotiate, persuade others, and make decisions; and a demonstrated capability for handling sensitive situations. Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead staff, and manage a budget.
