What we do

At BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, we’re on a quest to ensure every kid in the province receives the best health care imaginable. As a fundraising organization, we inspire communities and people to support BC Children’s Hospital, along with its world-class research institute, mental health facility and rehabilitation center.

Our work makes a profound difference. From helping get the boldest research ideas off the ground to supporting the most advanced equipment, together we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in children’s health care. This is no small task—which is why we’re looking for passionate people to join our team and help propel our work forward to power the possible.

What you’ll do

The Philanthropy Associate, Mid-Level Giving, will be responsible for the engagement of donors within our annual mid-level giving program (giving range of $1,000 to $9,999 annually). The Associate will be responsible for growing this base of donors using a wide range of activities, including donor led stewardship, personal cultivation and solicitation, and essential partner involvement. The donor portfolio for this role will be diverse, including donors from the South Asian Community.

More specifically, you would be responsible for:

  • Working in collaboration with other departments, develop and implement annual cultivation, stewardship and solicitation plans for annual mid-level giving donors in order to increase revenue, donor retention, and gift upgrades, and ultimately build our donor pipeline for leadership giving and major gifts.
  • Developing strong relationships with donors through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship contact, both via phone, email and in person when appropriate.
  • Providing support to a volunteer South Asian Development Committee; ensuring these volunteers are engaged and supported in their fundraising efforts.
  • Identifying and cultivating individuals who have a capacity for greater giving and work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure the smooth transition of the relationship to other areas of fundraising as required (e.g., Leadership Annual Giving or Major Gifts).
  • Overseeing the data management needs by ensuring accurate information is being tracked and entered into the donor database and preparing and analyzing reports to support the growth of the portfolio.
  • Managing a portfolio of Foundations; this work involves identifying new Foundations with a focus on children’s health, preparing letters of intent, writing grant applications and proposals, and effectively stewarding and renewing of current donors in the portfolio.
  • Achieving personal annual targets including donor activation, retention, call counts and revenue results.
