Job Summary

 

Salary Range: $57,347-$75,268/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.

 

 

We are seeking a Research Assistant to join our Breathomic’s Research team at the BC Cancer Research Institute with a focus on early lung cancer detection through breath. Our research focuses on the effect of air pollution on lung cancer development. We seek someone highly organized and detail-oriented with experience interacting with patients in a hospital environment. Candidates will be expected to help with study recruitment and database maintenance and have experience with research study design and study ethics. The ideal candidate would be highly organized, can multi-task, and have a keen willingness to learn.

 


Job Summary:

In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.These are fully qualified working level positions.  Incumbents have directly related laboratory experience and familiarity with specific research programs and methodologies of the hiring laboratory.  They work under supervision and perform experiments by following established laboratory procedures.  They report to the Department Head, Principal Investigator, or designate.

Qualifications:

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from a recognized Bachelor’s program in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Bachelor of Science); plus two (2) years of recent related experience in a research laboratory.
