BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province’s most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition is a provincial resource serving a total population base of 5 million and provides a broad range of consultative services and inpatient care. The Division currently has eight full-time and one part time faculty member with ongoing plans for expansion over the next several years. The Division is recognized for its basic science and clinical research programs with strengths in host defense, clinical epidemiology, inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease. The Division has a Royal College accredited fellowship training program.

 

The UBC Department of Pediatrics and BCCH are seeking a pediatric gastroenterologist who will provide clinical care, education and participate in the research activities of the division.

 

Applications are invited from clinicians, clinician-scientists and clinician-investigators with potential to thrive in a busy clinical and academic environment. As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated a commitment to pediatric gastroenterology with excellence in providing a high level of quality clinical care and potential for academic research and teaching. You will be eligible to obtain a specialists license to practice medicine in British Columbia as well as sub-specialty training in pediatric gastroenterology and be a Fellow or be eligible for Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
